What are your symptoms? are you sleeping too much or not enough? have things that you used to enjoy doing lost their excitement? are you eating too much or not enough? Thoughts of worthlessness? crying spells?…spending alot of money(splurging on un-needed items). feeling sad for long periods of time? avoiding people or family? these may be an indication of depression. Hopefully you have some kind of health plan or evn if you do not there are places you can go for help…in person is better. Just call a therapist office and ask for an evaluation it will take about 45 minutes or so and the therapist will point you in the right direction. It is a treatment of therapy and medication that can greatly help. Getting that help is the hardest step….make that call!!!please Source(s): personal 6 years ago 3 people rated this as good Thanks

- Chosen by Voters Physical activity is essential to keep the body healthy…. if the body does not get enough physical activity a person will become vulnerable to illness, and also their mind will not stay active, and when a person is ill they do not function mentally as they should!so activity promotes positive physical health preventing illness and maintaining the body physically and feeling physically well leads to feeling mentally well and a general sense of well being. 3 years ago 100% 1 Vote 1 person rated this as good

I see many students entering the field working with mental retarded people. Basically babysitting them, driving them around to places, and give them a good quality of life. 3 years ago 1 person rated this as good Thanks! That was my idea too, glad to have it suggested.

Did something happen recently? 3 months ago 1 person rated this as good Yes, tons of people got infected with dangerous drugs that break people down and lace their genes with the same kind of harm so the destructive influence is guaranteed to rage on forever until something better comes along. The infected ones who just said "No" – decision overridden by force.

- Chosen by Voters The answer above is pretty accurate, if you want to specialize you would probably want to continue on and get your masters. An RN is skilled to work with all groups and you can transition once you have some experience. You will most likely find your niche while in nursing school and find exactly what's the best fit for you. 2 years ago 100% 1 Vote

If the person is advocating for harm against their self or others, then they can be held against their will for their own safety and the safety of others — but usually, this is at the discretion of the mental health professional, or police officer if one is called in. They will assess how severe they think the situation is, but the general rule is that if the person is advocating for suicide, they will be subject to involuntary commitment, called civil commitment in Canada. Also, if someone is diagnosed with a mental health illness that is a Common Axis II disorder of the DSM-IV, they may be put into a hospital for an extended period of time depending on how severe it is. For Canada: "Every province and territory in Canada has legislation (usually called the Mental Health Act) which permits individuals to be kept in a psychiatric hospital against their will if certain conditions are met. These patients are normally referred to as "involuntary" patients. The specific criteria and procedure for civil commitment vary across Canada, but in most provinces and territories 2 conditions must usually be satisfied: the patient must be suffering from a mental disorder or mental illness, and the patient must present a danger to self or others. If these 2 conditions are satisfied, the legislation authorizes the patient to be kept in a psychiatric facility for a short period (usually 72 hours) for assessment purposes."http://www.canadianencyclopedia.ca/index… 1 year ago .
