Can people tell me why as a society we are not accepting of mental health issues.?

i think it is because as a person that is living with mental health instead of making mental health my life;………..people as a mass norm, know how they want to deal with everyday people.no challenges not bumps, but to talk with some with a mental health issue we are unsure of the way we are reacted to a mentally challenged person.crazy as sounds you talk to more people with mental issue then ya know.good luck finding your answer.you "DID"just interact with a mentally crazy person……p.s.we can be the most fun at a party too.lol 6 years ago 1 person rated this as good at least it was an honest answer from a person who understands were i come from. good luck to you in all your future endevours.

I work in Washington State and my employer will not allow me back to work pending results from a mental health?

- Chosen by Voters The company has the legal right to require that you show mental stability before allowing you to return to work, although you did not say something must have happened to cause concern in that area and it is your responsibility to provide proof.{} 1 year ago 100% 5 Votes

My husband isn't intrested in therapist stuff either he calls them head shrinkers & refuses to have anything to do with them. Tell him you are the better parent & just continue to go by yourself theres nothing you can do to make him go its just a man thing. 3 years ago Thanks for the answer. What does it mean when some1 asks Are you fighting mental health?

They are either teasing you or think that maybe something is a little off. Just to be sure talk to some of your other friends or family, you maybe suffering from some trauma and need a counselor. However, if you are fairly young…they are probably just being mean or teasing you! Depends on the circumstances when they said it! 1 year ago 2 people rated this as good ,k

Has anyone gone on Medical Retirement or know someone who has for mental health? How does this process go?

For mental health you will usually need a doctor of some sort ( therapist, psychiatrist) I dont know about a general dr. and i've also had mental health case workers involved, you fill out and have them fill out the application, you submit it… it takes awhile. You probably won't get all the info needed to give the first time you try, they require it extensively. proof and documents as to your mental illness. Definitely diagnosis, hospital visits, dr notes… 1 year ago Thank you i really appreciate your answer with this

How does religion play a part in mental health or mental illness?

- Chosen by Voters It can play both parts, but not likely at the same time.Americans? Most still are Religious and the majority seem to be statistically speaking largely Christian, at least nominally. Are they decreasing in their belief in the supernatural. Only a small minority, those whose religion is now science (which tries to be a religion in spite of its protestation to the contrary), who believe that life ends at the grave and that humans do not have souls (both without credible evidence!). Science should remain science and not try to usurp the place of faith. And science should do proper science, that is not construct theories and then go in search of supporting evidence to prove their often silly ideas. 4 months ago 100% 1 Vote

Do I have a mental health problem or phobia?

- Chosen by Voters Being in a crowd can be frustrating because people are getting in our personal comfort space. We all have a certain distance we need around us to feel comfortable. When our environment is a messy one, it is harder for us to maneuver physically and mentally. Things are not in their place and this can make us frustrated as well. It doesn't sound like you are claustrophobic because you didn't say you were frightened to be in crowds or messy places. I hope you are doing well. Best Wishes. 3 years ago 50% 3 Votes
