What mental health illness causes anger and resentment?

Many do, especially if that person isn't being properly treated.Borderline personality and antisocial personality are what immediately come to mind. 5 years ago 1 person rated this as good Brilliant reply. I did not know about these things and needed to know. Alas, the borderline person can cross the border into a paranoid psychosis. My guess is that this can be precipitated by the drugs. Alas, my personality can clash causing these people to attack me. It has happened five times.

What advice would you give me how to interact with my mental health worker?

I would like to applaud you for continuing to go to therapy!! Sometimes when people have to change therapists, they quit going….. good for you!! :) Please let your therapist know your goals and expectations from therapy. I love the coffee idea….. not so "institutional"! You might want to suggest that your therapist give you some homework…. this means that you can, on a daily basis, grow and understand your disorder. Good luck to ya and best wishes!! :) 5 years ago 1 person rated this as good Thanks so much!

Doy ou think yahoo answers can be bad for your mental health?

- Chosen by Voters There are many people on here that take great pleasure in others discomfort and provide silly questions and answers to trigger a negative response.Like the guy who asks a question every few days about his mate from work who has bi-polar and asks if its wrong to call him a nut job or if he is going to go crazy stab them up. He gets a kick out of seeing all the responses from people getting their backs up.However there is many types of people that are actually trying to help but offend you indirectly. The main problem with these people is they make assumptions or think that the persons problem is trivial and can be fixed with a one liner. For example some people asks questions and receive answers telling them to basically "get off your backside and do something about it". This is a big assumption that the person asking the question just sits and whines and does nothing to help themselves. On the other hand i mainly get thumbs down for my answers because i dont fill people with false hope, try to sell them a golden turd or sugar coat situations. I simply tell it for how it is and people dont like their heads to be brought out of their fantasy lands and hear the truth about life, so they react negatively. Most people asking questions here would rather have a page of answers telling them everything is going to be ok to make themselves feel better, rather than what its really like and what should really be done. But yes in the end it can be bad for your mental health if you take what these people say to heart. Finding a true, honest and relavent answer on here is like finding a diamond in the rough, you have to wade through all the crap first. Catholic Church Collecting Signatures For Referendum On Mexico City Bill That Would Enable Abortion In the course of First Three Months’ Gestation

four.67 (three votes)

Healthcare Prof:

The Roman Catholic Church has gathered about 32,000 of the 36,900 signatures needed to request a referendum on a Mexico City bill that would allow pregnant females to obtain a legal abortion in the course of the first 3 months’ gestation, Reuters reports (Reuters, 4/17). Below current Mexican law, abortion only is permitted if the life with the pregnant woman is endangered or if the woman has been raped. Lawmakers from Mexico’s Party of the Democratic Revolution in March proposed the measure within the city’s Legislature. The party holds Mexico City’s mayorship and also the majority in the city’s Legislature. The Mexico City Legislature is expected to approve the legislation, despite opposition from the church. Marcelino Hernandez, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mexico, lately said that if the proposed bill passes, any lawmaker who voted in favor of the measure would be excommunicated from the Catholic Church when the first abortion is performed under the law (Kaiser Daily Women’s Health Policy Report, 4/17). In accordance with Reuters, the city’s government is below no obligation to comply with all the request for a referendum, however it would “generate public pressure” and delay the vote on the bill by no less than 3 months. Assembly head Victor Hugo Cirigo said the city government would review any petition, but he was certain the vote will occur on April 24. Church spokesperson Armando Martinez stated, “In the end, the assembly is going to have the last word on this, with or without a referendum,” adding, “But the difference is that having a referendum, they would be listening to the people.” Martinez stated the church soon will present its demand for the referendum towards the assembly. He added that if lawmakers ignore the petition, the church will take the concern to court. The earliest a referendum could take location would be July, Reuters reports (Reuters, 4/17).

Do any of you in the field mental health feel like all you do is talk about people's problems?

- Chosen by Voters You must be relatively new in the field. You will learn to change the subject quickly or simply state–guys this is a little heavy for me–I hear this all day at work. It gets much easier over time but you have to practise–a lot! Start with your colleagues at lunch. Inevitably one will start with the shop talk–shut it down by saying we need a break from work–it is time for us to tend to our own health now. Be vague with people you are just meeting. For example, I worked as a child welfare social worker which was always a hot topic. When someone asked what I did, I said I worked for the government. If they asked doing what, I'd say I work with children–then immediately ask so what do you do? Takes practise but you will get there! Good luck! How can I find low cost mental health care in my area?

Just call around… Just ask if they use the sliding scale for uninsured people. I went to one that normally charges $120 an hour but I wasn't working at the time and could only afford $40 and he agreed to see me. So just call around and state your situation and I'm sure people would help you out. 5 years ago 1 person rated this as good Both were good answers. I picked this one, because I had already tried looking through the county and state directories with no luck…. everything seems to be geared for kids and getting folks off drugs. Thanks both!

Do either a psychologist or a psychiatrist make prescriptions for mental health drugs?

- Chosen by Voters A psychiatrist can make prescriptions, not a psychologist. psychologist is another word for therapist, and they never went to med school. they only non-MD physician qualified to make a prescription is a nurse practitioner, and they still need a psychiatrist's sign off on certain medications. Believe me, i've gone to a psychiatrist AND and a psychologist for 12 years and i've been inpatient at a mental hospital 5 times in the past 2 years. I know how these things work. 5 months ago 100% 3 Votes
