I am not an expert, but honestly I can hardly believe it, knowing that his sister was actually known for helping mentally impaired people and worked to open more hospitals for them. 2 years ago Thanks!

- Chosen by Voters I was on Zoloft around age 19 or so. It sort of made me robot-like. Wasn't sad constantly, but also wasn't happy. Just there. Now I'm on Wellbutrin, which is doing good, but it isn't just the only solution. It has helped that I reduced alcohol intake and I don't do any drugs anymore. I also find that working out helps my mood. Sometimes I just exercise just to get out of a bad mood. The day program sounds worth looking into. 4 years ago 100% 1 Vote

You don't have to get personal with a doctor. Unfortunately, they do legally have to ask you some questions before they can give you a prescription, but that doesn't mean you have to involve yourself emotionally. If you don't want to get too deep with it, just tell them what they ask. They won't think you're a druggie. It's perfectly okay to not want to pour your heart out to a stranger. You can just tell them that you just want something to help regulate your symptoms. Good luck! I hope everything works out. I'll pray for you. 3 years ago 1 person rated this as good thank you very much

- Chosen by Voters Being in good shape means not being sedentary. It keeps a mind balanced to have the physical gains of having your body healthy and fit. But this can go too far and some can become obsessed. Balance! 3 years ago 29% 2 Votes

serious clinical depression is definitely a mental health issue. when a person has sleep problems, neglects their personal care, loses interest in socialising, locks themselves away, loses all their confidence for example, is obviously a problem. saying that, we all have 'down days' when we feel we can't be bothered with anything or anybody. it only becomes a problem if this state of mind continues for longer than a few days, or becomes more regular. feeling a bit low, and depression are two very different things. and i guess sometimes people will try and get sympathy for it. 1 year ago thanks for the broader detail

Bless your heart for wanting to do this work. I was a teacher but I became a mental care worker when I was 46 and I absolutely loved it. The first year that I managed a group home, I had several high school girls who volunteered. They also worked in the day program. There's always plenty of work for everyone to do. Perhaps you could do this work. Also, you could take a CPR/Red Cross First Aid class. Usually your local fire department gives this training free periodically. 3 years ago 1 person rated this as good Thank you very much. Theres a red cross charity near me, i will ask there

The term "depression" is used in a lot of ways, from "I feel a little depressed today" to "I'm depressed because I was just dumped by my girlfriend" to its just a down day. "Clinical depression" refers to a number of diagnoses that meet specific criteria. In a major depression, someone is so depressed that they almost can't find the energy to do anything, they are sad and cry, feel hopeless and helpless, may want to hurt themselves, etc. There are other forms of depression, but sadness can be one component of clinical depression. Sadness is a descriptor of a temporal mood, often with tearfulness. Long periods of sadness may be an indicator of clinical depression if other criteria are also met. 3 years ago 1 person rated this as good Thanks!
